Through the mandates of Rev. Fr. Gilbert B. Sales, CICM, CEAP- CAR Regional Trustee and PEAC – CAR Regional Program Director, to ensure that all Catholic and Private Schools in the region are compliant in providing quality Catholic education, three faculty members of Saint Louis University namely Dr. Stephenie Ong Busbus, Mr. John Michael Aguirre Guerzon, and Dr. Joi Gutierrez, were invited by the Apostolic Vicariate of Tabuk last November 17 to 19, 2022 to the Kalinga-Apayao Teachers and Administrators Seminar (KATAS). The event aims to assist and evaluate the Standards-Based School Improvement Plans (SSIP) and Curriculum Map prepared by the Catholic Schools.
The activity highlights the inclusion of the Philippine Catholic Schools Standards (PCSS), Justice and Peace, Ecological Integrity, Engaged Citizenship, Poverty Alleviation/ Reduction, Gender Equality and Youth Empowerment (JEEPGY), and the school’s Philosophy, Vision, Mission, Goals, Objectives, and Core Values (PVMGOCV) in all their curricular programs to give emphasis on the Catholicity of their schools. More than 260 dedicated and committed Catholic educators of Kalinga and Apayao took part in the momentous activity. The event was made possible through the invitation of Bishop Jun P. Andaya, CICM, Fr. JM Gamatero, and Sir Lowie Mateo.
