Creativity and innovation have become indispensable qualities for success in today’s rapidly evolving world. Recognizing this, Saint Louis University hosted the highly anticipated CordINNOVATION Design Thinking 101 Training and Workshop on April 27-28, 2023, at Fr. Gevers Hall, Saint Louis University. This two-day event brought together students and individuals from various institutions in the Cordillera, all eager to delve into design thinking and sharpen their innovative skills.
The workshop began with an immersive session where participants were introduced to the fundamentals of pitching and research. Attendees were taught the art of crafting compelling pitches, honing their presentation skills, and conducting comprehensive market research. The participants understood the entrepreneurial landscape better through interactive exercises and hands-on activities.
Day two of the workshop was dedicated to the ultimate test of participants’ newly acquired knowledge and skills. They were divided into teams and tasked with creating a product pitch from scratch. With their newfound knowledge, the groups brainstormed ideas, prototyped products, and crafted persuasive presentations. Mentors and facilitators provided guidance and support, ensuring that participants are able to apply design thinking principles effectively.
The event’s highlight was when each team delivered their product pitches to a panel of esteemed judges. The presentations were a testament to the participants’ dedication and hard work. The ideas presented were innovative, from eco-friendly solutions like “The Beetles” to timely tech innovations like “HalikaBook.” The participants’ creativity, strategic thinking, and attention to detail were notable.
The CordINNOVATION Design Thinking 101 Training and Workshop proved to be an invaluable experience for all involved. Participants gained a solid foundation in design thinking and developed crucial skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, and effective communication. The event fostered an environment that encouraged innovation and risk-taking, empowering the attendees to think outside the box and pursue their entrepreneurial aspirations.
Unveiling the Power of Cordillera Innovation: CordINNOVATION 2023 Concludes with the Design Thinking 101 and Training Workshop
CordiNNOVATION 2023 held a closing ceremony after the Design Thinking 101 and Training Workshop. The theme for the innovation celebration was “Showcasing Cordillera Innovation Towards Inclusive and Sustainable Communities,” which aimed to highlight innovative ideas from different institutions in the Cordillera that promote inclusivity and sustainability.
The closing ceremony was held at Fr. Franics Gevers Hall, Saint Louis University. It gathered government agencies, innovators, and students from different fields and communities to celebrate innovation and creativity.
The CordINNOVATION 2023 has been an impactful event that unearthed visionary and inventive ideas that showcase the potential of the Cordilleran community in bringing change to the region.
