On 16 July 2023, the Music and Symphony In the School of Engineering and Architecture (MuSiCEA) bagged the Gold Diploma Award for the first Sing, Tarlac, Sing Choral Festival and Competition at the Kaisa Convention Hall in the City of Tarlac, Tarlac Province.
Hosted by the Tarlac Tarlac Mannerchor, and Tarlac Vocal Ensemble, the Sing Tarlac, Sing Choral Festival and Competition featured different musical pieces of multiple competing choral groups all over the country.
MuSiCEA was among the 15 contenders of the prestigious event who demonstrated their passion and love for music. The journey to Tarlac City was a historical moment for the dedicated group after weeks of preparation to develop their vocal harmonies and performances while being guided by their committed alumni to represent Baguio City and Saint Louis University (SLU). The group performed two pieces namely “Padayon” arranged by Rodolfo Delarmente and “Non Nobis Domine” by Ily Matthew Maniano.
Their hard work and unwavering passion was paid off when the jury, who are renowned figures in the music industry, and the audience commended MuSiCEA for their exceptional performance. As they reflect on their journey to the Sing, Tarlac, Sing Choral Festival and Competition, MuSiCEA can proudly say that their passion for music continues to thrive. This event was a testament to their dedication and to the music’s power to touch the soul, create lasting memories, and unite people in harmony.
This activity is also aligned with the CICM Advocacy: Peace and Integrity of Creation and to the Sustainable Development Goal: Peace, Justice and Strong Institution.
