On July 14, 2023, partners from San Antonio, Texas visited the Saint Louis University Pedagogical Development Center (PDC), School of Nursing (SON), Allied Health, and Biological Sciences, School of Medicine (SOM), SLU Museum of Igorot Culture and Arts, and Linkages Office. The Texas Friendship Visit is a direct result of the Memorandum of Agreement signed on October 2022 between SLU and the University of Texas Health, Rev. Fr. Gilbert B. Sales, President of Saint Louis University, that forged the partnership between SLU and the Health and Education sector of San Antonio Texas for the SLU School of Medicine, PDC, SON, and other allied health and hospital units.
The partnership, which is in line with SDGs 4 (Quality Education), 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), and 17 (Partnership for the Goals) establishes cooperative relations in the development of academic and cultural interchanges and encourages direct contact and cooperation between the faculty, students, and research staff, which includes a move for faculty exchange programs.

They require lots of work and relationship building that happens at the civic level and citizen-to-citizen level — from educational and cultural exchanges to trade.”

Mark Go, Vice Mayor Faustino Olowan, members of the San Antonio city council, representatives of the Philippine Embassy, and representatives from Saint Louis University in the person of Dr. Joselito Gutierrez, Executive Assistant to the SLU, and Dr. Paul Quitiquit, the Director of SLU Sacred Heart Medical Center.
