A Beacon of Appreciation: The DAISY Foundation
A global beacon of appreciation for nurses, the DAISY Foundation was founded by the Barnes family to honor their son Patrick, who died of an autoimmune disease. As part of its mission, the foundation recognizes and celebrates nurses who provide compassionate care to patients and their families.
DAISY Award Nominees were nominated by a patient, a patient family member, or a coworker for providing extraordinary care. Thousands of nurses worldwide have received the DAISY Award since 1999, creating a global community of healthcare professionals dedicated to patient care.
In addition to joining an international community of extraordinary nurses, nursing faculty, and students, receiving a DAISY award means you have made a difference in the life of a patient, their family, or colleague that they will never forget. DAISY Honorees gain lifelong benefits.
