After meeting the rigorous pre-qualification criteria, the Philippine e-Journal for Applied Research and Development (PeJARD) was indexed in the global Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). This makes PeJARD one of the eight journals from the Philippines that have been accepted into the DOAJ.
The PeJARD is collaboratively published by the CICM Philippine School Network and housed at Saint Louis University, Baguio City, Philippines.
DOAJ is an extensive index of diverse open-access journals worldwide whose mission is “to increase the visibility, accessibility, reputation, usage, and impact of quality, peer-reviewed, open access scholarly research journals globally, regardless of discipline, geography or language.”
Through the DOAJ index, journals in any language or subject get a chance to reach a global audience, enhancing their visibility and adhering to best practices. Specifically, the DOAJ website identifies the following benefits of indexing journals in DOAJ:
- Enhanced reputation and prominence
- Adherence to scholarly publishing standards and best practices
- Open-access publication funding and compliance
- Increased traffic, discoverability, and visibility of published content
“DOAJ works to build an equitable and diverse scholarly ecosystem where trusted research can be accessed globally without barriers.”
