In celebration of Indigenous Peoples Month, the Medical Outreach Missions Fellowship Initiative (MOMFI), in partnership with various organizations, provided medical and dental services to the constituents of La Trinidad, Benguet, last 19 October 2023.
The La Trinidad Municipal Health Services Office, together with the medical team of the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (CAR), invited the Medical Outreach Missions Fellowship Initiative (MOMFI) to serve hundreds of patients with free medical assistance through consultation, visual acuity assessment, and HEENT services.
Other organizations from across Baguio City also took part in the medical mission. Saint Louis University (SLU) Pharmacy Department provided free prescription medicines, while University of Baguio School of Dentistry offered dental workup.
Living up to their mission of Transforming Energy for a Better World, the Hedcor group extended their medical services through free medical consultations and assessments. The University of the Cordilleras College of Nursing also assisted in the pre-assessment of the patients for check-up.
MOMFI attended 206 patients, including 197 adults and 9 pediatric patients. The organization succeeded in the CICM target, which includes peace, justice, the integrity of creation, and caring for indigenous people. This outreach mission was also able to target Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3): Good Health and Wellbeing; SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
