The Office of the University President of Saint Louis University (SLU), in partnership with the American Corner and University Libraries, hosted the Entrepreneurial and Livelihood Training for Women at Brgy. Happy Hollow, Baguio City last 23 November 2023.
In line with the monthly thematic activity for National Entrepreneurship Month, resource speaker Mr. Angel C. Mendoza Jr., a faculty from the School of Accountancy, Management, Computing, and Information Sciences (SAMCIS) gave a hands-on lecture and demonstration of preparing Papaya Pickle (atsara) and Chilli Paste.
This program is aligned with the UN SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth and CICM Advocacy on Justice, Integrity of Creation, and Indigenous Peoples Apostolate, which showcased SLU’s and American Corner Baguio’s commitment to community development.
The SLU UN SDG Center and the Community Extension and Outreach Programs (CEOPO) plays a pivotal role in leveraging expertise to empower women and non-working parents. This initiative strives to make a positive impact on the community by providing them with essential skills and knowledge in starting a small business for them to sustain their families’ everyday needs.
