Saint Louis University inked a Memorandum of Agreement with the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) on establishing a network of human milk storage facilities during the ceremonial MOA signing held last 5 February 2024 at the BGHMC Garden. Among those present in the said signing were Dr. Paul Adlai Quitiquit, SLU Hospital Administrator; and Dr. Joselito C. Gutierrez, the Executive Assistant to the SLU President.
This collaboration provides access to safe and sustainable human milk to sick, small, and preterm babies. It also guarantees the provision of human milk in times of disasters and calamities.
In line with this development, the SLU Health Services Unit, through its Medical Clinic, allotted a space for breastfeeding or a lactation room for faculty, staff, or visitors.
This partnership with other health institutions is aligned with the CICM advocacy on Justice in providing necessary assistance to those in need, the SLU core value on Social Involvement, and UNSDG#3 Good Health and Well-being. It also solidifies the SLU Sacred Heart Medical Center and the whole SLU community’s commitment to support another humane advocacy.
