Saint Louis University (SLU), through the guidance and inspiration of the University President Rev. Fr. Gilbert B. Sales, CICM, conducted the initial phase of self-assessment to determine its alignment with the Philippine Catholic Schools Standards for Higher Education (PCSS HE) on 7-8 February 2024 at the Fr. Francis Gevers Hall, Diego Silang Building, SLU.
The main objective of this activity was to assess how the practices of the institution are aligned with the standards set by the PCSS HE anchored on the Church documents and promoted by the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP).
The SLU PCSS Assessment team is composed of 24 faculty and staff from various schools and units and with the six facilitators who assisted Executive Assistant to the SLU President, Dr. Joselito C. Gutierrez, who also serves as the PCSS HE Team Leader in the University.
In his message, Rev. Fr. Sales thanked and affirmed the commitment of the team in assisting the school, including their selfless service in the university. He said that concretizing this program is a manifestation that Christian Spirit and Social Involvement is irrefutable.
Every term, the Office of the Vice President for Mission and Identity under the leadership of Rev. Fr. Emery Mwako, ensures the seamless implementation of the succeeding phases of self-assessment until all the PCSS benchmarks are assessed.
This activity captures the CICM advocacy on Justice and Peace and UNSDGs 4 (Quality Education) and 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions).
