USL’s President, Rev. Fr. Macwayne N. Maniwang, CICM led the ceremonial extinguishing of the torch marking the end of another chapter of the Friendship Meet. Victory is found not in medals but in the “bonds forged, the lessons learned, and the friendships built,” he said.
Looking back, the five-day event created lasting memories for everyone. With their chests out and chins up, proud for having had the opportunity to wear their universities on their jerseys and uniforms, the CICM delegates take home not only the awards they won for their beloved schools, but they also bring back home stories and experiences to share about the people they met and the culture they immersed in. More importantly, they leave with a more profound understanding and appreciation for the shared values and spirit of the CICM.
Especially in sports, academics, and culture and the arts, where competition and competence are often at the forefront, fostering a cordial environment is paramount.
We have long recognized how allied activities are able to emphasize on virtues that matter, for these are the same values which the CICM Congregation holds dear.
Truly, in Saint Louis University- Baguio City, during the 7th CICM Friendship Meet, inclusivity, excellence, and friendship bloomed their most magnificent.
Beyond the 7th CICM Friendship Meet, with one heart and one soul, we hold tight to these values.
We nestle on our missionary core.
