To mark a significant milestone in the pursuit of quality management, the Internal Quality Audit (IQA) Closing Meeting was held at the Fr. Joseph Van den Daelen, CICM- Center for Culture and the Arts (CCA)Theatre on 15 March 2024. The said meeting culminated the rigorous assessments, insightful feedback, and forward-thinking strategies based on the findings from the recent audit visits to the various units and offices of Saint Louis University (SLU).
Mr. Edwardo N. Kidayan, CPA, the Lead Internal Auditor, set the tone for the proceedings with his opening remarks. Shortly after, the overall IQA Findings were presented, highlighting both strengths and areas for improvement identified during the audit process. This presentation provided valuable insights into the University’s operations and served as a foundation for constructive dialogue.
After the presentation of the IQA Findings, process owners had the opportunity to respond and provide feedback on the findings, fostering a collaborative atmosphere aimed at driving continuous improvement. Dr. John Anthony Domantay, PhD, Dean of the School of Medicine, and the Team Leader of Support Management and Processes, acknowledged the dedication and effort of all involved in the IQA process. Dr. Domantay underscored the importance of sustained commitment to quality management principles in achieving organizational objectives.
Roberto M. Arguelles, PhD, the Quality Management Head and Vice President for Finance, presented the IQA Future Directions, outlining key action points and initiatives to address identified areas for improvement. Dr. Arguelles emphasized that the IQA processes foster a work culture rooted in respect, creativity, and innovation in line with the commitment to ongoing enhancement of organization’s internal quality standards.
In his closing remarks, Mr. Hector L. Martin, MBA, Director of the Office of Institutional Development and Quality Assurance, expressed gratitude to all participants for their contributions to the IQA process. Mr. Martin accentuated the importance of collective efforts in driving organizational excellence and reiterated SLU’s commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
The IQA Closing Meeting stood as a testament to the organization’s unwavering dedication to quality management and continuous improvement in pursuit of its mission and vision. As attendees departed, they carried with them a renewed sense of purpose and determination to uphold the highest standards of excellence in all endeavors.
