As part of the ad extra services of Saint Louis University (SLU) to partner Catholic Schools, the Office of the University President, through the leadership of Rev. Fr. Gilbert B. Sales, CICM, PhD, extended support and assistance to the requests of the Catholic Schools. The first is the Franciscan Apostolic Sisters Schools System through Sr. Adela M. Babon, FAS, PhD, Superintendent of FAS Schools System in Cagayan from 20-22 June 2024 at Pax et Bonum Retreat House in Santa Ana, Cagayan: Saint Anthony’s College (Santa Ana, Cagayan), Saint Anthony’s Academy (Gonzaga, Cagayan), Saint Francis Academy (Santa Teresita, Cagayan). Dr. Joselito C. Gutierrez trained the teachers in Designing Curriculum Map for Highly Effective and Standards-Based Lesson Delivery for Catholic Schools
Last 28-29 June 2024, the MATATAG Curriculum Trainers from SLU and CEAP-CAR were also requested by Rev. Fr. Rafael B. Pecson, OAR, EdD, President of San Sebastian College – Recoletos, to give insights about MATATAG Curriculum to the teachers of their 5 campuses: San Sebastian College-Recoletos in Manila, Cavite, Canlubang, Alfonso, and Colegio de Santa Rosa in Makati held at SSC-R Manila.
Topics on the Framework in Upgrading the Lesson Delivery of Catholic Schools, Philippine Catholic Schools Standards for Basic Education, 21st Century Skills, Pedagogies, Assessment, and Technology in MATATAG Curriculum, and Curriculum Mapping were presented and shared to the Catholic teachers upon the request of Rev. Fr. Jose Gualberto I. Villasis, PhD, Rector and President of Aklan Catholic College.
These partnerships of Saint Louis University with Catholic schools manifest the institution’s commitment to strengthen the CICM Advocacy on Justice and Peace and UNSDG 4 (Quality Education), 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
