Saint Louis University (SLU) gained another glory as it was conferred the Pag-IBIG Stakeholders’ Accomplishment Report (StAR) Award for being a Top Employer (Private Sector). This award was given during the Pag-IBIG Fund StAR (North Luzon) event held at the Clark Marriot Hotel, Clark Freeport, Pampanga on 13 August 2024.
Vice President for Finance, Roberto M. Arguelles, PhD, received the Plaque of Recognition on behalf of University President, Rev. Fr. Gilbert B. Sales, CICM, PhD. The Plaque cites SLU’s significant contribution “to Pag-IBIG Fund’s efforts of providing Filipino workers the benefits of its savings programs and access to affordable home financing.”
Underscoring on the University’s commitment towards the welfare of its employees, VP Arguelles expressed SLU’s gratitude to Pag-IBIG for being its partner in one of the institution’s most basic programs for employee welfare and development.
VP Arguelles was accompanied by SLU’s Chief Accountant Dhalia Annabelle Lawilao and Payroll Section Head Jill Alidao in accepting the award.
SLU has been implementing different programs, projects, and advocacies in favor of its employees that are even beyond the bare minimum set by law. These programs, and the Pag-IBIG Fund StAR Award, are tangible proofs of the University’s genuine recognition and care towards its human resources. The award is also in pursuit of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), particularly SDG 1 No Poverty and SDG 17 Partnership for the Goals.
