The Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines (IECEP) SLU Student Chapter proudly participated in the highly anticipated 2024 Regional Student Summit held on 15 October 2024, organized by the IECEP CAR Student Chapter. The event, which attracted an energetic gathering of future engineers from the region, centered around the theme “Inspiring Excellence: Pioneering Innovators for a Sustainable Future.” It provided an invaluable platform for learning, networking, and fostering collaboration among aspiring electronics engineers.
Louisians showcased their talents across various academic and social competitions, securing top spots. In the Electronics Engineering (ECE) Math Olympiad, the team earned 1st runner-up, while in both the Interscholastic Quiz Show and the Elite Electronics Showdown, they were crowned Champions. They also impressed in social competitions, winning 1st Runner-Up in Euphony 2024, an acoustic duet competition.
In the ECE Math Olympiad, the 1st Runner Up title was claimed by second-year Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering (BSECE) students Gabriel Rain A. Sobrepeña, Ryzell E. Uyad, and Aleja Verna V. Madriaga. Meanwhile, the Interscholastic Quiz Show champions were Liaa Jucelle Ferrer, Richard Bachar, Jose Christian Gerard Galande, Karl Vincent Batalon, Roland Jason Oh, and Wyatt Joshua San Diego.
Demonstrating excellence in both theory and practice, Don Mari S. Lanuza, Christian P. Federe, and Christian Sacyat emerged victorious in the Elite Electronics Showdown, winning the championship. Additionally, the vocal prowess of Bernize Manzano and Dondy Barcelona earned them 1st Runner Up in the Euphony 2024: Acoustic Duet Singing Competition.
The champions of the Interscholastic Quiz Show and the Elite Electronics Showdown will advance to the prestigious IECEP National Students’ Summit, set to take place at UP Bahay ng Alumni, UP Diliman, on 14 to 15 November 2024.
BSECE participants’ achievement is a testament to a true Louisian Spirit, asserting the CICM Advocacy of Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation (JPIC) and aligning with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11).
