Saint Louis University (SLU) paid a courtesy visit to His Excellency, Most Rev. Rafael T. Cruz, DD, Bishop of the Diocese of Baguio, on October 16, 2024, at the Bishop’s Residence.
Joining SLU President Rev. Fr. Gilbert B. Sales, CICM, PhD, in the visit were Executive Assistant to the President, Joselito P. Gutierrez, PhD; Vice President for Administration, Atty. Shellah Yzanne P. Merced; and Assistant Parish Priest of SLU, Fr. Emanuel Enjang Pranatal, CICM.
In their discussion, Rev. Fr. Sales emphasized SLU’s dedication to providing Quality Catholic Education while also prioritizing the well-being and mental health of both students and staff. He highlighted SLU’s leadership role in disseminating best practices among Catholic schools, particularly through his involvement with various Catholic organizations. This initiative aligns with the Laudato Si advocacy of Pope Francis and the university’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals.
As part of the traditional Louisian hospitality, Fr. Sales extended an invitation to Bishop Cruz to join the university’s Board of Trustees, fostering a closer partnership between SLU and the Diocese of Baguio. (Written by Joselito P. Gutierrez, PhD)
