On 29 November 2024, the Professional Regulation Commission announced that 259 out of 365 (70.96%) passed the October and November 2024 Mining Engineers Licensure Examination (MELE).
Engr. John Miller C. Manzano of the Department of Mining Engineering of Saint Louis University’s (SLU) School of Engineering and Architecture (SEA) ranked 2nd among the top examinees, with a rating of 89.25%.
Engr. Manzano is one of the ten new Louisian Mining Engineers.
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) conducted the board examination on 22, 23, and 24 October 2024, across several cities including Manila, Baguio, Butuan, Cebu, Cagayan de Oro, and Davao. However, the exams scheduled for the second and third days in Legazpi were canceled due to severe flooding caused by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine (internationally known as Trami). These sessions were rescheduled for 23 and 24 November 2024.
