From 28-29 January 2025 Medical Outreach Missions Fellowship Initiative (MOMFI) and MedKCom conducted a Medical Mission in Tagudin, Ilocos Sur, offering the community an essential health service. Medical professionals, and dedicated volunteers gratified a two days Medical and Surgical mission across the barangay of Libtong and town of Sawat, Tagudin, Ilocos Sur.


In this Medical Mission where healthcare is offered, around 642 patients were served with free obstetrics and gynecology checkups, while others underwent minor surgeries. These numbers of patients include both adult and pediatric patients. Beyond medical consultations, the mission also emphasized the dispenses of medicines to the patients to boost their overall health and well-being.
The medical mission is in partnership with, St. Augustine’s School Alumni, Municipality of Tagudin, led by Mayor Versoza, Rural Health Unit, led by Dr. Richel Ann Carbonell, Let’s Share Foundation, led by Dr. Carol Ecarnacion, Philippine Medical Society of Northeast Florida Inc., led by Francis Ong.
This extended compassion highlighted the power of care and teamwork in creating significant change and nurturing a great connection and hope among the community. MOMFI believes that healthcare is a fundamental right, not a privilege.
SLU MOMFI contributes to promote the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) namely: SDG 3: Good Health and Wellbeing, SDG 17: Partnership for the Goals and SDG 10: Reduced Inequality.
