The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) – Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) recognized the achievements of the participants in the KABADANG Research Publication Project during the 31st CHED Founding Anniversary and 5th National Higher Education Day held on 28 May 2025 at the CHED Regional Office – CAR, Cabanao, Balili, La Trinidad, Benguet. Among those honored were Louisian faculty members Prof. Genevive Claire B. Antonio, PhD, Prof. Sheila Marie C. Magat, PhD, Engr. Marcelino N. Lunag, Jr., PhD, and Engr. Maria Corazon De Guzman Ocampo.
“KABADANG,” a Cordilleran word that means mentorship through mutual help and collaboration, captures the core principle of the program: “mentoring the mentors.” This aligns with CHED’s mission to promote quality, accessible, and relevant higher education through programs that foster inclusive faculty development and research excellence, in support of United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 4 (Quality Education) and 10 (Reduced Inequalities).
As a flagship initiative of CHED-CAR, the KABADANG Research Publication Mentoring Program is designed to build the research and publication capacity of faculty and staff in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) across the Cordillera region. (Photos by Sheila Magat)
