Saint Louis University (SLU) – in partnership with the Private Education Assistance Committee (PEAC) and under the leadership of the SLU President and PEAC Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) Regional Program Director, Rev. Fr. Gilbert B. Sales, CICM, PhD – hosted the 2025 In-Service Training (INSET) for Junior High School (JHS) teachers at the Fr. Gerard Decaestecker Building, Navy Base Campus from 23 to 25 June 2025.
With over four hundred participants, the training aimed to upskill JHS educators to keep pace with new educational strategies and curriculum changes.
Fr. Sales emphasized the significance of conducting this training program “to retool the teachers of the region in delivering quality basic education.” He highlighted that such initiatives are essential for maintaining excellence and competency in the education sector within the region.
In line with the theme, “Designing, Facilitating, and Assessing Student Learning of the Revised K-10 Curriculum in Blended Learning Environments Amid Disruptions,” 31 trainers from various private schools across the country served as resource persons during the event, ensuring that teachers received exceptional guidance and support in adapting to the current changes.












Fifteen sessions were held simultaneously each day to accommodate both basic and advanced subjects, namely: Araling Panlipunan, English, Filipino, Mathematics, Science, Physical Education, Technology and Livelihood Education – Home Economics (TLE-HE), Technology and Livelihood Education – Information and Communication Technology (TLE -ICT), Music, and Values Education.
The INSET Training is a collective investment in the professional development of teachers and ensures that students receive quality education. This program aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) No. 4 (Quality Education), 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
