To proactively respond to the increasing number of flu cases within the university, the KASAMA/SSC STELA Assembly proposed a strategic and compassionate collaboration with the Red Cross Youth – Saint Louis University (RCY-SLU) through Project STELAKaakibat: STELA SSC x RCY-SLU. Scheduled on 28-29 October 2025, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, this two-day health assistance initiative aimed at providing immediate flu-prevention support to students, particularly those frequenting the high-traffic Perfecto Building. RCY-SLU extended its support through volunteer manpower and the provision of available health supplies, reinforcing a shared commitment to student welfare, institutional solidarity, and the values of Compassion, Christian Spirit, and Competence.

Project STELAKaakibat exemplifies SLU’s Core Values by placing Compassion and Christian Spirit at the heart of its flu-prevention initiative. This act of care reflects a deep commitment to student well-being, ensuring that support is accessible and immediate. The project also embodies Christian Spirit by fostering solidarity and service, mobilizing volunteers to extend help to the vulnerable in a spirit of generosity and moral responsibility. Competence is evident in the strategic planning and efficient execution of the two-day campaign, while Innovation is reflected in the student-led, collaborative approach to addressing a public health concern.
Project STELAKaakibat is directly aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. By providing free flu-prevention materials such as alcohol, face masks, and sanitation kits, the initiative promotes student health, hygiene, and disease prevention—core targets under SDG 3. The project also exemplifies SDG 17 through its collaborative framework, uniting the STELA SSC and RCY-SLU in a shared mission to safeguard student welfare. This partnership fosters institutional solidarity and mobilizes youth-led action, reinforcing SLU’s commitment to holistic education, responsiveness, and service-oriented goals. Through its compassionate and coordinated approach, the initiative contributes meaningfully to a healthier, more resilient university community.
