In the 2025 UI GreenMetric World University Rankings released on 5 December 2025, Saint Louis University (SLU) achieved a Country Rank of 20 out of 89, Region Rank of 307 out of 864, and World Rank of 540 out of 1,547 higher education institutions (HEIs).
SLU remained strong as a green university despite the increase of about 200 more participants in this year’s cycle. Its total score of 6,717.5 out of 10,000 places it in the mid-tier globally, reflecting competent sustainability efforts amid rising competition from universities in 105 countries.
Moreover, SLU’s scores in Setting and Infrastructure (SI), Transportation (TR), and Education (ED) were significantly higher compared to the results in 2024. The other three categories that UI GreenMetric World University Rankings assess are Energy and Climate (EC), Waste (WS), and Water (WR).
For SLU, these results signal alignment with global green campus standards prompted by the university’s steadfast commitment to fostering sustainable practices within the academic community aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and Laudato Si’ Goals.
