The Philippine Institute of Industrial Engineers – Saint Louis University Student Chapter (PIIE-SLU SC) let their talents and intellect shine in “IEshikawa 20 ATRIA: The Industrial Pulse of Systems” held on 27 to 28 February 2026 at the University of the Philippines-Diliman.
PIIE-SLU SC bagged First Runner Up in the Case Study Competition, having been selected as one of the eight finalists during the initial screening. The team line up was led by their coach, Engr. Sydney Jade Ortiz, guiding Nissi Joy Cabading, Zoie Erika Lagadan, Freda Macaling, and Ashlee Jade Rozul to secure their spot.

PIIE-SLU SC claimed Second Runner Up in the Design Sprint Hackathon in a showdown of seven teams. The team line up was led by their coach, Engr. Mark Emriel Parlan, guiding Cristelle Marie Bernales, Mac Steeven Cabrera, Mykaela Anne Edgar Gallardo, and Cristel Gawisan to secure their spot.
PIIE-SLU SC also clinched fourth runner up during the Quiz Bee competition out of 15 competing teams despite challenges with the betting mechanics. Coached by Engr. Anthony James Domingo, representing PIIE- SLU SC were Althea Faith Bugayong, Jireh Jose Irangan, Mei Anne Navalta, and Krista Mae Ramos.
Beyond the competitions, 41 PIIE-SLU students engaged in a series of workshops and industry talks, covering topics such as lean six sigma, supply chain management, information systems, ergonomics, and research and innovation. IEshikawa 20 showcased that IEs can thrive in all environments, including Healthcare, with PIIE-SLU proudly demonstrating their competence and creativity. The event allowed the students to learn outside their regular classes, to network with peers, and see their lessons applied in real life by industry experts, aligned with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 4 (Quality Education) and 17 (Partnership for the Goals).
