Saint Louis University, through its Department of Psychology, School of Teacher Education and Liberal Arts (STELA), has earned national recognition after being named one of the Top Performing Schools in the 2025 Certified Human Resource Associate (CHRA)™ Assessment Examination, administered by the Human Resource Educators Association of the Philippines (HREAP).
SLU was distinguished in the 101–299 examinees category, achieving an impressive overall passing rate of 83.44%. A total of 149 students from the Department of Psychology successfully passed the certification exam, reflecting the program’s strong alignment with industry standards and its commitment to academic excellence.
The award was formally conferred during a recognition ceremony held at F1 Hotel in Bonifacio Global City (BGC) on 20 March 2026. The distinction was accepted on behalf of the university by Asher Ephraim E. Bayot, Department Head of Psychology, who represented the Department of Psychology and the SLU academic community.
This achievement underscored SLU’s continued efforts to equip its students with competencies that are both theoretically grounded and practically relevant in the field of human resource practice. The CHRA certification is a widely recognized credential that validates foundational HR knowledge and professional readiness among graduates.
Beyond institutional recognition, this milestone contributes to several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
- SDG 4: Quality Education — by ensuring high standards of instruction and producing competent, industry-ready graduates;
- SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth — by enhancing students’ employability and readiness for professional roles in human resources;
- SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure — through strengthening linkages between academic training and professional certification standards.
The SLU Department of Psychology’s performance in the 2025 CHRA examination highlights its growing role in shaping future HR professionals and advancing excellence in higher education in the Philippines. (Article by the Department of Psychology, SLU | Photos by HREAP)
