The Saint Louis University Basic Education School (SLU BEdS) associations of parents, teachers, and students carried out an outreach activity at St. Pedro Pio Parish in Bekkel, La Trinidad, on 14 March 2026. This initiative was initiated through Rev. Fr. Gilbert B. Sales, CICM, University President, who underscored it as a call to action for the Louisian community to actively engage in meaningful service and social responsibility, in close coordination with the University Outreach Programs Office (UOP).

Kindergarten to Grade 3 pupils from various schools in the parish gathered at the Bekkel Elementary School covered court for a morning of learning and fun. Members of the Louisian Pupil Council (LPC) and the Samahan ng Nagkakaisang Mag-aaral (SANAMA) facilitated interactive games, while elementary teachers who are members of the Serve Group and the Laboratory Elementary Department Employees Association (LEDEA) conducted reading tutorials.

The activity marked a meaningful step toward building a deeper and more responsive partnership with the community, reflecting the University’s mission of service and solidarity. It also aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). (Article by Mrs. Maria A.
