During the two-day assessment, the accreditors met with the university administration, faculty, students, alumni, employers, and program stakeholders, and conducted a thorough evaluation of the University’s facilities and processes through a guided campus tour.

Moreover, the accreditors visited the University’s community partners, including Brgy. Happy Hallow, SLU-Sunflower Child Youth and Wellness Center, and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology- Cordillera Administrative Region (BJMP-CAR). The visits consisted of extensive interviews with the heads of the facilities, during which they discussed and reviewed ongoing projects with the University.

The closing ceremony was held simultaneously at the Fr. Francis Gevers Hall, Diego Silang Building for the School of Advanced Studies (SAS), and the Msgr. Charles Vath Building AVR for the School of Nursing, Allied Health and Biological Sciences (SONAHBS). It served as the post-accreditation meeting featuring the preliminary results.

In the concluding presentation on SAS, the chairperson of the PAASCU team of accreditors stated, “The institution helps raise exemplary performance across governance, quality assurance, academic excellence and stakeholder engagement,” commending the University’s commitment to upkeeping academic standards while maintaining its core values.

In response, SLU President Rev. Fr. Gilbert B. Sales, CICM, PhD said, “PAASCU is deeply committed to helping institutions grow across various areas. I think this mindset of continuous improvement resonates strongly with our own aspirations here in SLU. It is through this shared vision that both SLU and PAASCU move toward the same goal, fostering excellence and meaningful development in our institutions,” expressing his gratitude and willingness to advance with the same dedication to academic excellence and institutional growth.

Furthermore, the PAASCU team chairperson for the BSRT program applauded the university and said, “We can see the commitment of the university as well as the department to continual growth and quality education. Because we know the trifocal of academic education, we believe in academics, research, and outreach or community extension because growth matters on those three aspects of higher education.” To end the presentation, he thanked SLU on behalf of the PAASCU team for the warm hospitality and for continuously choosing PAASCU to be the third-party accreditor.

Acknowledging the given presentation, SLU Vice President for Academic Affairs Felina P. Espique, PhD, expressed gratitude for the sacrifices of all the accreditors. “The very reason we subject our programs for accreditation and assessment is because we know that every now and then, there are a lot of things we need to do to give justice to our students and parents in charge of their children. On behalf of Saint Louis University, we welcome with open hearts all the recommendations we will be receiving,” she said.

The PAASCU team sought to evaluate SLU’s initiatives and their effectiveness in continuously developing the SONAHBS and SAS programs. The two-day accreditation assessed the congruence between the University’s facilities and teaching strategies and global education standards aligned with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 4 (Quality Education), 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), and 17 (Partnership for the Goals).
