Representatives from Saint Louis University (SLU), led by President Rev. Fr. Gilbert B. Sales, CICM, PhD, joined the Congregation of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (CICM) Philippine Schools Network (PSN) for the Governance Assembly 2026, which opened on 8 July 2026 at Dohera Hotel, Mandaue City, Cebu.
Themed “Embodying and Advancing the Beautiful CICM Mission,” the said Assembly will continue until 10 July 2026 with strategic planning, collaborative workshops, and governance sessions designed to produce a coordinated roadmap for the network’s future.
Hosted by Saint Louis College – Cebu (SLC-Cebu), the assembly brought together leaders from Saint Mary’s University – Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya; Saint Louis College – San Fernando City, La Union; University of Saint Louis – Tuguegarao City, Cagayan; Maryhill School of Theology – Quezon City; SLC-Cebu; and SLU to further advance a unified vision for CICM education in the Philippines.
SLU, through an audio-visual presentation with accompanying magazine, presented the CICM PSN’s Executive Report of 2025 themed “CICM-PSN: Sustaining A Beautiful Mission Through Innovation, Collaboration, and Synergy.” It documented the accomplishments of the CICM PSN across 15 clusters under four Key Strategic Areas:
- Key Strategic Area 1: CICM Catholic Identity and Mission – Enhancing the CICM Catholic Identity and Mission in all our schools
- Key Strategic Area 2: Leadership and Governance – Strengthening our brand and stature through strategic leadership and good governance
- Key Strategic Area 3: Academic Excellence – Achieving national and global prominence in instruction, research, scholarship, and creative activities
- Key Strategic Area 4: Institutional Sustainability – Cultivating stewardship and catalyzing sustainable practices
The report emphasized, “More than a network of schools, CICM-PSN continues to grow as a community of faith and mission. As the Network moves forward, it does so with renewed confidence and collective resolve—embracing innovation while remaining rooted in its Catholic identity, strengthening global linkages while honoring local realities, and pursuing excellence while remaining faithful to its missionary vocation.
