The Young Entrepreneurs’ Society (YES) of Saint Louis University’s (SLU) School of Accountancy, Management, Computing, and Information Studies (SAMCIS) held a Team-Building Series 1 from 25 October to 25 November 2022 at Fr. Raphael Desmedt Athletic Oval in the Maryheights Campus in Bakakeng. The series was designed to improve teamwork and collaboration among team members, encourage physical activity, and promote healthy lifestyles.


The series included a variety of activities, such as icebreaker activities, trust-building exercises, communication skills workshops, problem-solving activities, outdoor activities, team-building games, volunteer activities, and reflective exercises. The specific activities were tailored to the goals and needs of the team.
The series aimed to help team members get to know each other better, improve communication and problem-solving skills, build trust, and foster community and purpose. The series was also designed to encourage attendees to engage in physical activity, access health screenings and resources, and learn about healthy lifestyle habits.
In addition to YES members, students from the Entrepreneurship, Consumerism, and Cooperatives (ECC) 421 class were invited to sell and promote their businesses at the event.
Targeting the Sustainable Development Goals SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being, SDG 4 – Quality Education, SDG 5 – Gender Equality, and SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities, the event increased engagement among students, faculty, staff, and the broader community, promoting a sense of belonging and encouraging individuals to participate in campus and community events and activities.
