Saint Louis University’s (SLU) leadership role in Catholic Higher education was elevated with the Association of Catholic Universities of the Philippines’ (ACUP) reappointment of SLU President, Rev. Fr. Gilbert B. Sales, CICM, PhD as ACUP President for the 2023 – 2025 term. This marks his second term, reflecting his enduring commitment to the advancement of Catholic Education nationwide.
As ACUP President and Board of Director, Fr. Sales leads collaborative efforts among member institutions to promote academic excellence, ethical formation, and social responsibility aligned with Catholic values. His role involves steering initiatives that support Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) such as SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnership for the goals), while upholding the CICM Advocacies on peace, justice, and dialogue.
THe appointment showcases SLU’s standing as a premier Catholic high education institution in the Philippines, reinforcing its mission of “Sapienta Aedificat” (Wisdom Builds).
