The Saint Louis University Mining Engineering Society successfully conducted the SLU MinES’ Siglat MinHERO Webinar, a semestral activity that promotes mining and engineering in different fields and aspects. The event was held from March 1 to 26, 2023.
The Siglat MinHERO Webinar gathered notable speakers Engr. Rona Ulalan Haban (Eramen Minerals Inc.), Engr. Jessper Evan Ampaguey (Eramen Minerals Inc.), Engr. Sylvi Dianne Guico (FCF Minerals Corporation), Engr. Shella J. Hidalgo (Philex Mining Corporation), and Engr. Neil Ryan C. Garlejo (Philex Mining Corporation.)
Siglat MinHERO is an initiative that promotes responsible and sustainable mining and delivers excellent knowledge and information about the role of mining in our society. This year’s lecture series aims to hero and champion the best practices for surface and underground mining through virtual talk and online quiz shows. The online quiz show served as the pre-event project and promotion that provided and geared the mining enthusiasts with more knowledge about the industry.
On the other hand, the webinar lecture discussion served as the project’s principal event, featuring a diverse set of invited speakers from different well-known mining companies across the country.
