In line with Saint Louis University’s sustained efforts to be an excellent and transformative Catholic Higher Educational Institution (CHEI), an orientation on the Philippine Catholic Schools Standards (PCSS) for Higher Education was held at the Prince Bernhard Gym last March 14, 2023.
Several graduate, undergraduate, and administrative faculty and visiting lecturers participated in the said event. The speakers discussed the overall goal and components of PCSS, which is divided into five significant parts: Defining Characteristics, Domains, Standards, Benchmarks, and Rubrics.
According to the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP), although Catholic Higher Education Institutions are different from Basic Education in terms of their orientation and goals, they build on and improve the fundamental concepts and abilities that Basic Education focuses on.
