The outreach program, Project AMBAG 2, was conducted with Helping Hands Healing Hearts Inc., in the Children’s Home, Amparo Heights, Baguio City, on April 17, 2023. The YES organization interacted with the children at the event through games, story-telling, a dance performance, and a dinner. The program is designed to provide support and resources for children in the Children’s Recovery Unit-Baguio institution. It focuses on building resilience in children by providing them with the tools and skills they need to overcome adversity and thrive.
Project AMBAG 2 provides a safe and supportive environment where children can receive counseling, participate in fun activities, and connect with other children who have had similar experiences. The program also provides education and resources for caregivers to help
them better understand and support the needs of the children in their care.
The program aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), primarily SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being and SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions. SDG 3 aims to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all ages. Project AMBAG 2’s approach to children’s recovery aligns with this goal by providing a safe and supportive environment where children can receive counseling, participate in therapeutic activities, and connect with others who have had similar experiences to promote their well-being.
SDG 16 aims to promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all, and build effective, accountable, and inclusive institutions at all levels. Project AMBAG aligns with this goal by providing resources and education for caregivers to help them understand and support the needs of the children in their care, which can contribute to building strong and inclusive institutions that support the well-being of all community members.
