On April 15, 2023, the SLU Department of Nursing and the Cordillera Association of Nursing Deans (CAND) held the 16th Regional Student Nurses Conference at the Prince Bernhard Gymnasium. The event gathered 1,200 attendees from all over the Cordillera.
The Regional Student Nurses Conference is primarily for students and faculty of the CAND member schools to provide updates and insights on the current academic preparation of students as well as issues, challenges, and future directions of nursing practice in the Philippines and the global arena.
The said conference aligns with SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), and SDG 17 (Partnership for the Goals). It also supports the CICM mission of Justice, Peace, and Indigenous Advocacy. This venue allowed Cordillera schools to be updated with current issues by nursing leaders Dr. Mary Grace Lacanaria and Dr. Erlinda Palaganas.
