by the Medical Outreach Mission Fellowship Initiative
Supported by the Local Government Unit of Irisan, led by Councilor Jennifer Luna-Dinangan, the Medical Outreach Mission Fellowship Initiative (MOMFI) conducted a circumcision drive at Elpidio R. Quirino Elementary School in Irisan, Baguio City on 31 July 2023.
MOMFI medical student volunteers and honorary members, supervised by MOMFI’s faculty adviser Dr. Robert Tolentino, executed free circumcision services to male adolescents in the community. Resident surgeons and medical interns from Baguio General Hospital and SLU-Hospital of the Sacred Heart also assisted in the mission.
The circumcised patients were provided with complimentary antibiotics, analgesics, and vitamins to help them recover. A total of 196 patients benefited from the outreach campaign.
This outreach mission was able to target Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3): Good Health and Wellbeing; SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
