Dr. Marilyn L. Balmeo, from the School of Teacher Education and Liberal Arts (STELA) of Saint Louis University (SLU), was invited as one of the speakers and panels for the RemTech Europe and SUSTAINATHON 2023 that took place on 18 to 22 September 2023 at the Ferrara, Italy. This year’s theme is “Sustainability the Road to Global Value.”
The online conference was in collaboration with the following organizations:
- JRC-European Commission,
- US Army Corps of Engineers,
- CL:AIRE,
- ASTM International,
- SERDP-ESTCP,
- Interstate Technology and Regulatory Council and AESAS.
Representing the country at the said conference, Dr. Balmeo is solely the Filipino speaker and panelist who presented her topic, “Integrating the Sustainable Development Goals in the School Curriculum” last 19 September 2023.
RemTech Europe is an international conference and exhibition focused on land and water remediation markets and technologies, aiming to share knowledge, innovation, and case histories to encourage the development of new and sustainable processes that focus on SDGs No. 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and No. 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), SUSTAINATHON is a 24-hour marathon featuring speakers worldwide which will discuss how their countries link sustainable remediation and sustainable water use to their progress in accomplishing the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
