The Rotaract Club of Saint Louis University’s School of Medicine celebrated World Polio Day by participating in ROTArun: World Polio Day on 22 October 2023 in Burnham, Lake Drive, Baguio City.
The ROTArun in Baguio City was organized by Rotary Club Passport International District 1841 – Germany to give tribute to the local community’s dedication to the cause of polio eradication. Proceeds of this event will be used for projects like the END POLIO NOW campaign which aims to eradicate polio.
World Polio Day is celebrated annually on 24 October. It is a global celebration to promote awareness of continuing efforts to eliminate polio, a vaccine-preventable viral illness. The day also highlighted the importance of immunization and the success made in the fight against polio.
This activity sought to target SDG: 3 Good health and well-being; 11 Sustainable cities and communities; 16 Peace, justice and strong institutions, and 17 Partnerships for the goals.
