Saint Louis University (SLU), headed by University President Rev. Fr. Gilbert B. Sales, CICM, participated in the prestigious Times Higher Education (THE) Innovation & Impact Summit 2023 held at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) in Shenzhen, China.
Themed “Universities and Cities: Advancing Sustainable Innovation,” the summit emphasized the pivotal role of higher education institutions in fostering and sustaining cities as centers of innovation. Aligned with SLU’s dedication to addressing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), attendees engaged in plenary sessions focused on leveraging innovative approaches to tackle regional disparities, climate change and supporting regional economies.
Discussions also revolved around fostering emerging technology and innovation companies to contribute to resilient cities and solve local, national, and global challenges.
Following the summit, SLU representatives proceeded to Chongqing, China, to attend the Ceremonial Graduation Rites of Chinese students who completed their master’s or doctorate degrees in Business Administration, Management, and Language Education during the academic year 2022-2023.
