The blessing ceremony of the Sacred Heart Medical Center (SHMC) Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) on 04 December 2023 at 10 in the morning marked the significant initiative between KBWorld Trading Corporation and Saint Louis University (SLU) to conserve and protect the atmosphere, rooted in the advocacy of environmental stewardship and sustainable progress.
As an inspiration to the Louisian community, the STP contributes to the preservation of the environment by treating sewage from public sewers and turning the same into clean and odorless water.
Rev. Fr. Gilbert B. Sales led the blessing ceremony through a prayer and expression of gratitude followed by the cutting and unfurling of the ribbon. Members of the SLU administration and the faculty also attended the ceremony.
The STP operates through three steps: 1) pre-treatment, which involves the process of removing physical and chemical contaminants from the raw water; 2) prefiltration, which involves the removal of large particles and debris; and 3) discharge, which indicates the quality of water and stream habitats.
Through this project, KB World Trading Corp. aims to be a dependable steward and a constant force behind SLU’s water resources. In order to ensure a future in which sustainability and advancement coexist peacefully, KB World confirms its commitment to work hand in hand with SLU to be a stable, enduring partner in the noble cause of supplying clean water. Together, they set out to create a campus where the expansion and vigor of knowledge are reflected in the cleanliness of the water.
As it may also be remembered, the blessing of the water refilling station named Water is Life held last week Thursday, 28 November at the Diego Silang Building was also part of the KB World and SLU’s partnership to enhance sustainable water supplies. These two installations correlate to the mission of SLU for Louisians to freely access safe drinking water and sanitation.
