Saint Louis University’s School of Law (SLU-SOL) has once again demonstrated its excellence in legal education, securing the second spot among 65 law schools for First-timers with 11 to 50 bar examinees in the recently concluded September 2023 Bar Exams. SLU-SOL continues to uphold its reputation, retaining its ranking from the previous November 2022 Bar Exams.
Announced by the Supreme Court on 05 December 2023, of the 42 SLU-SOL graduates who took the Bar exams for the first time, 39 successfully passed, resulting in an outstanding passing rate of 92.86%, higher than the national passing rate of 36.77%. They are among the 3,812 out of 10,387 examinees who passed the 2023 Bar exams.
Additionally, the School ranked No. 4 for All Candidates (61.04%) with 51-100 candidates, with 47 out of 77 takers passed.
This year’s Bar exams were held from 17, 20 and 24 September 2023 and covered the following core subjects: Political and Public International Law (15%); Commercial and Taxation Laws (20%); Civil Law (20%); Labor Law and Social Legislation (10%); Criminal Law (10%); and Remedial Law, Legal and Judicial Ethics with Practical Exercises (25%). These core subjects, determined and approved by the Court En Banc reflect the latest developments in legal practice, ensuring that the Bar exams remain a true measure of competence and dedication in the legal field.
