The School of Accountancy, Management, Computing, and Information Studies (SAMCIS) – Young Entrepreneurs’ Society’s Business Training Series 1, themed “Mindset in the Entrepreneurial Journey,” provided its members with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in business from 24 October to 6 December 2023 via Zoom. The series aimed to equip young entrepreneurs with the tools they need to develop a positive and growth-oriented attitude towards their ventures by focusing on mindset.
The training series covered topics such as the Entrepreneurial Mindset, Developing a Growth-oriented Mindset, Building a Strong Entrepreneurial Team, Creating a Successful Business Plan, Marketing and Sales, and Financial Management. In addition to the classroom training, participants also had the opportunity to connect with other aspiring entrepreneurs and successful business leaders through networking events and mentorship opportunities.
With the knowledge and guidance from entrepreneurs, the training series was considered a success, with participants becoming more motivated to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams and take action toward achieving their goals and increased confidence in their ability to succeed as entrepreneurs.
The Training Series also targeted the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): SDG 4 – Quality Education; SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth; SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure; SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities, and SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals.
