The Professional Regulatory Commission – Professional Regulatory Board of Psychology (PRC – PRBP) through its representative Dr. Hector Perez and PRC-CAR’s staff Zarah Comom, conducted the first inspection and monitoring visit for the Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Psychology programs of Saint Louis University (SLU) on 06 December 2024 at the Alejandro Roces Boardroom, Administrative Center, Fr. Burgos Building, SLU Main Campus.
The SLU administration and faculty through Dr. Faridah Kristi C. Wetherick, Dean of the School of Advanced Studies; Mr. Oscar Sison, Graduate Program Coordinator of Liberal Arts; Mary Pauline Namoca, PhD, Dean of STELA; and Ylona Veronica A. Bayod, RPsy, RPm, Head of the Department of Psychology hosted the inspection meeting with the guidance of the Office of Institutional Development and Quality Assurance.
The Center for Counseling and Wellness (CCW), Science Laboratories, and Psychological Testing Unit (PTU) were among the facilities inspected, along with the checking of supplies and materials. Areas in faculty resources, laboratory equipment, and curriculum alignment were also inspected for improvement. Discussions during the visit highlighted suggestions for program and curriculum enhancement, with plans for revisits to ensure implementation.
PRC expressed satisfaction with the institution’s willingness to address the suggestions, especially in terms of the number of qualified faculty members that are currently teaching in the BS and MS Psychology programs. The inspection emphasized the importance of compliance and continuous improvement in maintaining high standards within the field of Psychology Education.
