On 24 February 2024, the Rotaract Club of Baguio SLU – School of Medicine spearheaded a medical mission with the presence of the Junior Chamber International (JCI) Baguio City Chapter at the Malcolm Square Baguio City. Under the guidance of esteemed medical professionals Dr. Brenda Lee Villanueva and Dr. Karla Anjeli Villanueva, the medical student Rotaractors embarked on the medical mission with the aim of raising general health and public health awareness.
Despite the challenging conditions, including scorching heat and open venue, the Rotaract Club of Baguio SLU-SOM successfully provided medical services and distributed essential medications to 250 individuals, including senior citizens, kids, and infants. Additionally, attendees had the opportunity to avail themselves of HIV screening and blood donation services.
The activities undertaken during this medical mission align with United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals 3 (Good health and well-being), 5 (Gender Equality), and 10 (Reduced Inequalities), demonstrating their commitment to global development objectives.
