For this year’s Month of Love, a wave of heartwarming nostalgia swept through the Saint Louis University (SLU) campus as the Philippine Institute of Industrial Engineers (PIIE), in collaboration with the School of Engineering and Architecture (SEA) celebrated Valentine’s Day with the theme “SEA Love: Rewiring High School Memories.” The event was a trip through the memory lane of highschool–reuniting hearts, reminiscing shared memories, and renewing friendships.
PIIE set up a charming booth brimming with love, warmth, and a touch of nostalgia to perfectly capture the theme. Visitors could indulge in an array of sweet treats, including cookies and cakes, or surprise a loved one with beautiful flowers—available as single stems or elegant bouquets. Beyond delightful confections, the booth also featured unique Valentine’s-themed gifts, such as bracelets, IE lanyards, crochet flowers, stuffed toys, and scented candles—perfect for thoughtful and heartfelt presents. The booth was an instant hit with students and faculty members visiting to pick up sweet treats, select gifts, or feel the nostalgic ambiance. Overall, the event was a success, with a large number of students visiting the booth and generating funds for the next activities.
By managing resources efficiently and adapting to demand, PIIE demonstrated SDG 12, Responsible Consumption and Production. Beyond financial gains, the collaborative planning and execution of the event underscore SDG 16, Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, fostering a sense of unity and cooperation within the university community. The partnership between PIIE and SEA exemplifies SDG 17, Partnerships for Goals, highlighting the power of achieving shared objectives.
“SEA Love” was more than just a fundraiser, it was a celebration of love, friendship, and memories, reminding everyone that while life moves forward, the connections and experiences from the past remain with us. (Article and Photos by PIIE-SLU SC)
