The Saint Louis University (SLU) Association of Geodetic Engineering Students (AGES) organized and sponsored the Geodetic Engineer Licensure Exam (GELE) 2026 Sponsored Mass on 15 September 2026 at the Saint Aloysius Gonzaga Parish. The activity aimed to provide spiritual support to Baguio Geodetic Engineering graduates preparing for the GELE scheduled on 23-24 September 2026. The Mass intentions included prayers for their success, health, clarity, and preparation, along with the blessing of their examination kits.
The Holy Mass was celebrated by SLU Vice President for Mission and Identity (VPMI) Rev. Fr. Emery Mwako Ebumea, who also delivered the homily. In his homily, Fr. Emery emphasized the sacrifices of parents, particularly mothers, and the importance of not wasting those sacrifices. This message encouraged the examinees to value the support and sacrifices of their families as they pursued their professional goals. During the celebration, the examinees were recognized and prayed over before receiving a blessing for their upcoming examinations. Their examination kits were likewise blessed.

Overall, the GELE 2026 Mass Sponsorship reflected AGES’s support for Geodetic Engineering graduates beyond the classroom. It brought together students, graduates, faculty members, families, and other members of the Geodetic Engineering community to encourage the examinees as they prepared for the licensure examination.
The event contributed to United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3) by emphasizing the mental and spiritual well-being of the examinees through prayer and encouragement. It also contributed to SDG 16 by fostering responsibility and values that may contribute to a fair and peaceful society in their future professional work. (Article and Photos by AGES)
