SLU-SHMC is Gold Winner of Seddiqi Holding Excellence Award for Social and Environmental Responsibility at the International Hospital Federation Awards 2025

Saint Louis University – Sacred Heart Medical Center (SLU-SHMC) bagged the Gold Award of the Seddiqi Holding Excellence Award for Social and Environmental Responsibility during the International Hospital Federation Awards 2025 during the 48th World Hospital Congress at Campus Biotech, Geneva, Switzerland, on 12 November 2025.

Project STELAKaakibat provides health assistance for flu prevention

To proactively respond to the increasing number of flu cases within the university, the KASAMA/SSC STELA Assembly proposed a strategic and compassionate collaboration with the Red Cross Youth – Saint Louis University (RCY-SLU) through Project STELAKaakibat: STELA SSC x RCY-SLU. Scheduled on 28-29 October 2025, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, this two-day health assistance initiative aimed at providing immediate flu-prevention support to students, particularly those frequenting the high-traffic Perfecto Building. RCY-SLU extended its support through volunteer manpower and the provision of available health supplies, reinforcing a shared commitment to student welfare, institutional solidarity, and the values of Compassion, Christian Spirit, and Competence.

SLU holds 3-Day Basic Incident Command System Training

To even reinforce its commitment to strengthening crisis management capabilities, Saint Louis University (SLU), through its Campus Planning, Maintenance, and Security Department (CPMSD), held a three-day Basic Incident Command System (BICS) Training in partnership with the Office of Civil Defense Cordillera Administrative Region (OCD-CAR) from 5 to 7 November 2025 at the Fr. Gevers Hall, Diego Silang Building, SLU Main Campus. 

SLU Cultivates Minds and Empowers the Future in Benguet Outreach

Through the Office of the Internal Auditor (OIA), Saint Louis University (SLU) once again brought the spirit of service to life through its flagship outreach initiative, the Bright Start Program, with the theme: Cultivating Minds, Empowering the Future. The recipients for the academic year 2025-2026 are students, parents, and teachers of the Datakan Integrated School in Kapangan, Benguet. 

Feeding hearts and hope: SLU strengthens Project Daily Bread

During a class discussion at Saint Louis University (SLU), the harsh reality of student hunger came sharply into focus for one nursing student. She vividly recalls hearing about fellow students who spent their hours in the library, quietly avoiding the shame of having to beg for lunch. Deeply moved by this story, she felt a stirring determination to make a difference, despite the demands of her busy schedule. Motivated by compassion, Magnolia Ein Andrei Doria became a regular donor to Project Daily Bread (PDB), an initiative that provides meals to students in need.

SLU, UC, and UB sign Free Meals for Youth Program MOA with City Government of Baguio

On 3 November 2025, Saint Louis University (SLU), University of the Cordilleras (UC), and University of Baguio (UB) signed the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on the Free Meals for Youth Program with the City Government of Baguio. The said signing was led by Mayor Benjamin Magalong, together with Vice Mayor Faustino Olowan, alongside the members of the City Council.

SLU NEOLOUPHIS and CCW conduct skill-building workshop on supporting vulnerable populations

On 21 October 2025, the New Louisian Philosophical Society(NEOLOUPHIS), the co-curricular organization of the Philosophy Department of Saint Louis University’s (SLU) School of Teacher Education and Liberal Arts (STELA) conducted a workshop seminar in collaboration with the SLU Center for Counseling and Wellness (CCW) with the theme, “Empowering Student Leaders: A Workshop on Building Skills for Supporting Vulnerable Populations.”
