Saint Louis University School of Teacher and Liberal Arts, through its Department of Philosophy, hosted an in-service training on Bioethics on January 9, 2023, that was held at the audio-visual room of the Waldo Perfecto Building. The training was attended by the Philosophy faculty and medical doctors from Baguio General Hospital and Saint Louis University Sacred Heart Medical Center, who are members of their respective Ethics Committees.
Rev. Fr. Jerry Reb. Manlangit, OP, was the invited resource speaker for the said training seminar. At the beginning of his lecture, FR. Jerry emphasized “Bioethics is the Soul of Life Sciences.” Fr. Manlangit is a Moral Theology and Bioethics professor at the University of Sto. Tomas (UST, Manila). He is also part of UST’s Ecclesiastical Faculties of Theology and Philosophy, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, and the Graduate School. He also teaches the subjects of Hospital Administration and Human Resource Management and holds positions in various hospitals in the country.
Fr. Jerry authored the book, The Fundamental Concepts, Principles, and Issues in Bioethics.
