In celebration of Valentine’s day, the Saint Louis University Mining Engineering Society (SLU MinES) crafted and set in motion their Valentine’s booth entitled “EM-Chanted in MinEs”, which commenced on 12, 13, and 15 of February 2024. The booth was stationed in front of the Mining Engineering Laboratory (H400B) at the SLU Main Campus, offering engaging games and activities for the students to enjoy.
The booth was initiated to entertain and create a fun-filled atmosphere for the students, as they celebrate the day of hearts in high spirits. With the booth strategically posted where plenty of students passed, SLU MinES offered numerous intriguing activities and games for everyone to join. From games that tested your memory, to card-matching and guessing games, the booth was packed with entertaining and engaging activities to pull-in students from all departments.
Aside from the enthralling games, the “EM-Chanted in MinES” booth also featured an assortment of merchandise from pins, stickers, and even T-shirts. Adding to the festive ambiance, the booth also featured a delightful selection of Balut and beverages for those seeking delectable treats.
In the spirit of fostering justice, peace, and a sense of community, the booth resonated with the CICM goals of justice and peace along with SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) by entertaining and promoting love and joy to everyone. Through this enchanting initiative, the society celebrated the season of love and contributed to the larger narrative of building a world rooted in compassion, joy, and sustainable development.
