Saint Louis University (SLU) welcomed San Sebastian College – Recoletos de Manila on 26 September 2023 for a benchmarking visit of the former’s Sunflower Pedagogical Development Center (PDC), in line with SSC-R’s commitment to further enhancing its quality of Catholic Christian education.
On behalf of SLU President Rev. Fr. Gilbert B. Sales, Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Felina P. Espique and Executive Assistant to the SLU President Dr. Joselito Gutierrez welcomed the SSC-R delegation led by its President, Rev. Fr. Rafael B. Pecson, OAR.
The developing partnership between SLU AND SSC-R is a significant step forward in potentially developing and offering a special education program for SSC-R.
Other areas of focus during the visit included the Languages and International Studies Unit (LISU) and the SLU Basic Education School.
The SSC-R delegation, accompanied by SLU representatives, also visited various units and offices across SLU campuses such as the Communication Laboratory, Fabrication Laboratory, SLU Museum of Igorot Cultures & Arts, the Inclusive Education Resource Center, and the Fr. Joseph Van den Daelen, CICM Center for Culture and the Arts.
SSC-R is an Augustinian Recollect institution dedicated to providing students with a holistic education grounded in Catholic values. The college is known for its strong academic programs, vibrant campus life, and commitment to community service.
