Saint Louis University Basic Education School (SLU BEdS) showcased its commitment to scientific education by actively participating in the 6th International and 14th Annual National Scientific Meeting of the Philippine Society for Cell Biology, Inc. The event, held at the Baguio Convention and Cultural Center from 26 to 27 October 2023, centered around the theme, “Cell Ecology: Understanding Cell-to-Environment Interactions & Mechanisms”.
Selected senior high school students and Science teachers from the school represented the school at the convention. They joined other researchers, experts, and students in sharing and exploring the latest breakthroughs and advancements, as well as future endeavors in cellular ecology through paper and poster presentations and panel discussions.
The program focused on cell-environment interactions and their impacts on biological systems, which include mechanisms of cellular adaptation to environmental stress and the role of cell signaling in environmental adaptation.
One of the Lousian participants, who was impressed by the technological advances in microscopy and imaging highlighted in the presented research, mentioned that the convention also gave them an opportunity to interact with experts and share research insights for possible future collaborations.
This scientific meeting is aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being.
