On 4 March 2024, the City Government of Baguio City congratulated and commended Saint Louis University (SLU) for being shortlisted in the category of “Research Project of the Year: Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences” in the prestigious “Times Higher Education Awards (THE Awards) Asia 2024”.
This remarkable achievement of SLU in the THE Awards, recognized through Resolution No. 061, Series of 2024, accentuates the university’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence, creative collaboration, and communication of research results.
Resolution No. 061, Series of 2024, states that:
- Established in 2019, THE Awards is a prestigious platform for recognizing and promoting excellence in higher education. The event brings together leading educators, researchers, administrators, and policymakers from Asia and worldwide to honor outstanding institutions and individuals in various categories;
- Saint Louis University was among the eighty (80) finalists from 17 countries and territories shortlisted in the prestigious Times Higher Education (THE Awards) Asia 2024;
- The “Research Project of the Year: Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences” Award is given to the individual or team at a higher education institution for innovative arts, humanities, or social sciences research that has a far-reaching impact and has caught, or has the potential to catch, the imagination of the public. The award is particular with evidence of significant or novel results, creative collaborations, and imaginative communication of research results; and
- Saint Louis University made it to the shortlist of eight (8) universities worldwide for the category “Research Project of the Year: Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.”
Joining SLU in the list of the eight “Research Project of the Year: Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences” shortlisted universities are Chulalongkorn University (Thailand), Hong Kong Polytechnic University (Hong Kong), Lovely Professional University (India), Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Malaysia), Our Lady of Fatima University (Philippines), Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (Sri Lanka), and Suranaree University of Technology (Thailand).
This resolution underscores the SLU’s pursuit of academic excellence on a national and international scale and of producing impactful, groundbreaking researches.
